I just bought a used 33D with a loader. It has 120 hours on and still has over 1 year of warrantee left. Can someone tell me the important service items that I should check on? The dealer says the tractor was well cared for and it does look like it (nice and clean, etc.) Is there anything I should have the dealer do before delivery? I can change the oil and grease all the grease fittings, etc. myself.
I'm concerned about the issue that many people have reported regarding the improper pressure control valve settings to the loader, severely limiting it's lifting capacity. Can this issue be tested by placing a block under the bucket and testing to see if the load can pick up the front of the tractor? Or should I have the dealer measure the pressures to see if they are on spec.?
BTW - I ended up with a NH7308 loader, a Woods snow blower, 7500 hoe, BB60 rotary cutter, and Befco T40-258 tiller.

SteveInMD, Congratulations on your new machine. It sounds like you are purchasing from a dealer. If I was certain that the dealer would actually do the work,then I would recommend that you pay the dealer to perform a pre-delivery inspection(as outlined in the Operator's Manual) on the unit. This would be money well spent in my opinion. Unfortunately, there are some unscrupulous dealers out there that do not complete this inspection,on new machines,as it is outlined.
Make certain that the machine comes with an Operators Manual for the tractor and an Operators Manual for the loader(if it does not, then order them through the New Holland Dealer's Parts Department). Actually, you should have an Operator's Manual for each implement. In the Operator's Manuals you will find recommended maintenance schedules and information about what is involved in general maintenance. For more in depth information you will need to order the Factory Sevice Manuals(also from the dealer).
If you are concerned about the loader performance, then pay the dealer(do not expect the dealer to do this at no charge) to test the hydraulic systems of the tractor and the loader(involves connecting gauges to the systems and testing specific pressures). You should ask for an estimate on the cost to check,and adjust,the pressures before having the work done(no surprises).Lifting the front end off the ground with the bucket will not tell you if the pressures are correct(what if the pressures are way too high?). I personally would not be too concerned about the loader. I rented a tractor with a 7308 loader about a year ago and it worked fine. I purchased a NH TC30 with a 7308 loader about four months ago and it has been magnificent. I have not done much heavy lifting with the loader but I have done a lot of excavation work that included a lot of digging(to an overall depth of five feet) and lifting bucket(60")fulls of dirt and rocks. My digging experience included going through a lot of tree roots that were difficult to pull out but the 7308 pulled them up(it would have been nice to have a backhoe, but the loader did the job).
I am quite pleased with my loader.
I see that you also are getting a backhoe. I would also have the hydraulics for the hoe tested at the same time.
Money spent now should be time,money,and aggravation saved later.
Sometimes small things such as incorrect hydraulic pressures, incorrect loader assembly, incorrect tire pressures, incorrect ballasting of tires,loose hoe frame mounting bolts, can all turn into major issues and can even make you think that the equipment is faulty when, in reality, it just needs to be adjusted and set to factory specs.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure yet if I'll have the dealer check out the hyd. pressure, or just use it as is and see what happens. I suppose if I do find an issue it later on it would be a warantee repair anyway. ....

The dealer said they are happy to put a gauge on the front end and main hyd. releif valves to make sure they are on spec. - even at no cost to me.
They are supposed to deliver my TC33D in the morning! It feels like Christmas Eve! ....

Congrats Steve! My TC35 is due next week. It will have a Woods 1016 66" FEL and a Woods 6' Brush Bull with clutch. (I hate shear pins!) Feels like Christmas to me too, but unfortunately it will be my only Christmas for the next 3 years. :-( ....
